Maidstone Town Centre Policing Update

It has been another proactive weekend for the Maidstone Town Centre Team, working alongside our partners to keep the town safe and enjoyable for everyone.

✅ An illegal e-bike was seized during patrols.

✅ Officers attended a community event at Mote Park, engaging with residents and discussing local concerns.

✅ Two men were arrested in the town centre for separate offences.

✅ Following information received regarding the facilitation of illicit tobacco sales, a local shop owner was issued with a formal warning and conditions have now been imposed upon him.

✅ Alcohol was seized from individuals openly drinking in an anti-social manner within the town centre.

✅ We attended a community event at Lockmeadow, where officers carried out anti-theft bike marking and provided crime prevention advice.

✅ Working closely with our Town Centre Ambassadors, we dealt with reports of shoplifting, stopped those involved, recovered stolen goods and issued penalties where appropriate.

✅ Enforcement activity continued throughout the High Street, including the removal of a vehicle that had been illegally parked in the pedestrianised area.

✅ A male was issued with a notice banning him from the town centre after repeatedly engaging in anti-social behaviour and causing concerns for local businesses, residents and visitors.

We will continue to work with our partner agencies, businesses and the community to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and issues that matter most to those who live, work and visit Maidstone.
